Kitesurfing is not so popular in Velipoje as it is in the Montenegro's nearby Ada Bojana (just 5km north of Velipoje) - which is ranked as a Mecca for kitesurfers around the world. Nevertheless, occassionally kites pop up in the Velipoje sky and often competitions start between devoted kiters and windsurfers, with the lasts more in numbers and certainly riding faster.

Despite the lack of great popularity for this sport, Velipoje is an excellent spot for kitesurfing, especially in the northern area of the beach, where west winds blow directly at 20-30 knots on daily basis and less people are around. As for the windsurfing, it is important to know that Velipoje is a closed bay and the water is mostly flat. If you are interested on wave freestyling you may seek other spots of Albania.

We offer kitesurf rentals and on demand, tuition for beginners. Kitesurfing rental starts from 20 Euro per hour or 49 Euro for 3 hours (beginner to intermmediate equipment).

The best time to enjoy kitesurfing is from September to November and from early March to June. During the summer period the beach gets crowded, limiting the availability of space for kitesurfing, especially for beginners.

We have full sets of kitesurfing, shown in here. Please contact us at for any questions you may have.
